Such statement was made during the 46th OIC Council of Foreign Ministers held in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Friday (March 1).
"OIC members must contribute and be part of the solution to global problems, including preventing conflict, promoting dialogue and negotiations, and consistently respecting the principles of the UN Charter," Marsudi noted in a statement from the Foreign Ministry, Saturday.
According to the minister, the world has borne constant witness to conflicts and wars owing to the lack of initiative from countries to resolve conflicts through dialogue and negotiations.
The situation is getting worse, considering several countries still do not respect the principles of the UN Charter.
Hence, Marsudi emphasized the need for all OIC member countries to set a good example by promoting dialogue and negotiations in dealing with conflicts.
The OIC meeting is being held at the Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi, on March 1-3, 2019, under the theme "Fifty Years of Islamic Cooperation: Roadmap for Prosperity and Development."
