Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - Incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) paid homage to Muhammad Yamin, deputy director of his National Campaign Team (TKN), who passed away, in Maguwoharjo, Sleman Yogyakarta.

Jokowi was accompanied by First Lady Iriana, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and his wife while paying tribute to the deceased at the latter's residence on Saturday morning.

"Innalillahi wainna illaihi rojiun (Surely, we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return'), Mr M. Yamin, leader of our volunteers, has returned to Allah SWT. We never thought before, because we saw him healthy during meetings," Jokowi noted.

Yamin passed away at the Mitra Plumbon Hospital in Majalengka, West Java, on Friday.

"This is the destiny decided by Allah. Our big family conveys condolences over the demise of Mr M. Yamin, and hopefully, his family would be granted patience," Jokowi added.
