Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) - Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates Joko Widodo-Ma'aruf Amin won the most votes in five districts, based on a plenary vote recapitulation at the provincial level conducted by the Papua Provincial election office (KPU Papua) at Grand Abe Hotel, Jayapura City, Monday. Pegunungan Bintang district conducted the plenary vote recapitulation on Thursday (2/5), Biak Numfor district on Sunday (5/5), and Sarmi, Merauke and Dogiyai districts today.

Based on data compiled by Antara for Pegunungan Bintang District, the Jokowi-Ma'ruf pair won 101,489 votes, while the Prabowo-Sandi pair received only 1,877 votes. In Biak Numfor District, the Jokowi-Amin pair won 65,663 votes and the Prabowo-Sandi pair got 7,107 votes, while for Sarmi District, the Jokowi-Ma'aruf pair won many more votes compared to the Prabowo-Sandi pair.

"Pair number 01 got 18,555 votes and pair number 02 only 4,003 votes, with DPT 26,996 spread across 10 districts and 142 polling stations," said Sarmi Commissioner Election Commissioner M Lapuando.

"For Dogiyai District, the Jokowi-Ma'aruf pair received 76,472 votes and the Prabowo-Sandi pair got 15,300 votes," said KPUD member Dogiyai Emanuel Tebai.

In Bumi Anim Ha, nicknamed Merauke District, the Jokowi-Ma'aruf pair won 84,917 votes, while the Prabowo-Sandi pair got 26,757 votes.

During the plenary meeting of the vote counting recapitulation for Merauke District, the Papua Provincial Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) praised the data submitted for being accurate and said it did not receive a variety of questions or objections from the witnesses of the candidates and parties.

"The Merauke KPU is very good at presenting and delivering data," said Papua Provincial Bawaslu Commissioner Ronald Manoach.

Similarly, Papua Provincial KPU Chairman Theodorus Kossay praised the Merauke KPU level commissioners because the data submitted saw no protests.

"This could be an example and reference for other KPUs in Papua. Merauke is very good," said Theodorus Kossay.

Reacting to this, Theresia Mehuze said that she was speechless because she received praise from the Commissioners of Bawaslu and the KPU of Papua Province.

"I was touched," Mehuze said, adding that she was grateful to the security forces (Indonesian National Police / TNI) who faithfully carried out their duties and escorted her from polling stations to the plenary at the provincial level in Jayapura City.
