"There is no more (presidential candidate) number 01 or number 02, there is only Indonesian unity," Jokowi said in his speech responding to the MK decision at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, Thursday evening, before heading to Japan for the G20 Summit.
Jokowi invited all the people to reunite and together develop the country.
Despite having different political choices, he hoped all Indonesians would respect each other.
"Even though (our) political choices are different during the presidential election, we need to acknowledge that the elected president and vice president are the president and vice president of all (the) Indonesian people," Jokowi pointed out.
By the spirit of unity, he expected all elements of the nation to work together toward a developed Indonesia, which is able to side with other major countries.
The MK's final ruling paved the way for the Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin victory based on the final tally that the General Elections Commission (KPU) had officially announced on May 21, 2019.
The court's nine judges argued that the Prabowo Sandi camp's allegation that they had discovered structured, systematic, and massive electoral fraud in the presidential election could not legally be proven, and therefore, was not legally acceptable.
