In response to this MK's final ruling, Presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto had conveyed on Thursday evening that he respected the court's binding decision, and in the aftermath of this court's ruling, there will be no more legal efforts.
The Prabowo-Sandi camp's spokesperson, Dahnil A Simanjuntak, revealed in his Twitter account quoted by ANTARA on Sunday that the Prabowo-Sandi pair's legal efforts have been final because they respect the MK's final ruling.
However, for them, the ultimate truth and justice merely belong to almighty Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. "What to do next? Whereever we are, and whatever we do, let us contribute to the lives of the nation and state," Simanjuntak tweeted.
The MK's nine judges ended their final ruling session on Thursday at around 09.16 pm local time by completely rejecting the Prabowo-Sandi camp's petition on the presidential election result dispute.
The conclusion of the court's final ruling was delivered by MK Chief Justice Anwar Usman after convening the session for almost nine hours. The team of lawyers of the two presidential and vice presidential camps and related parties were also present.
The MK's final ruling has paved the way for confirming the Joko Widodo (Jokowi)-Ma'ruf Amin's victory based on the final tally that the General Elections Commission (KPU) had officially announced on May 21, 2019.
The court's nine judges argued that the Prabowo-Sandi camp's allegation that structured, systematic, and massive electoral frauds had been found in the convening of the recent presidential election could not legally be proven so that it was not legally acceptable.
This Jokowi-Amin pair's contender filed its petition with the MK on May 23, 2019, on the recent presidential election result after the KPU announced the final result of vote counting on May 21, 2019.
The final tally declared by the KPU at around 1:28 a.m. local time on May 21 indicated the Jokowi-Amin pair had secured 85 million votes, or 55.5 percent of the national vote, while the contender Prabowo-Sandi won 68 million votes, or 44.5 percent.
The Jokowi-Amin pair had declared victory following the KPU's announcement of the final tally, while the Prabowo-Sandi pair rejected the KPU's official tabulation result and challenged it by filing an official complaint with the MK.
This MK's final ruling on the presidential election result dispute was expected to end tensions and conflicts in communities, according to Chief of the Jokowi-Amin pair's team of lawyers Yusril Ihza Mahendra.
The Prabowo-Sandi camp had been provided opportunities to prove its allegations that a structured, systematic, and massive fraud had occurred in the convening of the recent presidential elections.
"Unfortunately, they failed to prove the allegations during the Constitutional Court's (MK's) trial sessions," he told journalists shortly after attending the court's final ruling session on Thursday evening.
The 2019 Presidential Elections had been convened fairly and the MK's final ruling should reunite the entire nation, Mahendra said. "Let us restore our nationhood, and forget all conflicts, anger, and hatred," Mahendra said.
Commenting on the MK's final ruling, Indonesia's President-elect Jokowi has vowed to be a leader for the entire nation, without any exception.
"I and KH Ma'ruf Amin have promised to be the president and vice president for all Indonesians," he stated in a press briefing at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta before his departure for Japan to attend the G20 Summit on Thursday evening.
Accompanied by his running mate, Ma'ruf Amin, Jokowi thanked the entire nation and expressed optimism that the people's mandate that he received for the second term would be fulfilled to the best of his abilities.
The given mandate will be used for creating fair and equitable development across Indonesia and boosting social welfare of all people, the incumbent president stated.
Jokowi's commitment to taking care of the entire nation without any exception is right by considering the fact that the Indonesian people remain trapped into a divided society due to their different political preferences in the recent presidential elections.
This challenging condition needs to be handled by Jokowi wisely and comprehensively by not ignoring his challenger's voters following the MK's final ruling on the election result dispute, as it potentially jeopardizes Indonesia's integrity.
Widya Mandira Catholic University's political analyst Marianus Kleden argued that the Prabowo-Sandi pair had emerged victorious in 13 provinces, or 38 percent of Indonesia's total areas and population.
The Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin camp cannot afford to ignore this voter base. If Jokowi neglects his contender's voters, it could potentially sow the seeds of disintegration in Indonesia, as the general elections were not merely a matter of winning and losing.
"We all understand that the general elections are not just a matter of winning and losing, but it is also related to how to grasp the people's aspirations and preferences in governing the state," he emphasized.
Hence, as the president, Jokowi should necessarily care for his contender's voters and supporters for the sake of maintaining the country's integrity and unity in diversity, Kleden stated.
As a statesman, Jokowi could make his attention to the Prabowo-Sandi camp evident by appointing several of Prabowo's men in his cabinet, so they become part of the Jokowi-Amin administration, he remarked.
Whether or not the Jokowi-Amin administration recruits Prabowo's men in its cabinet, Dahnil A Simanjuntak's message is necessarily kept in mind: "Wherever we are, and whatever we do, let us contribute to the lives of the nation and state."
