Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi will undertake a working visit to Bali Island on Friday (July 26) to review several transportation infrastructure projects being built to support Bali's tourism sector.

"He is scheduled to arrive in Bali this morning and review several projects, such as the Sanur Pier Crossing development project and Cruise Pier project in Tanah Ampo as well as plans to build an airport in North Bali," Head of Communications and Public Information Bureau Hengki Angkasawan noted in an official statement received in Denpasar, Bali, on Friday.

In addition to reviewing transportation infrastructure development projects in Bali, the transportation minister was also scheduled to meet Bali Governor I Wayan Koster.

Angkasawan further affirmed that the working visit was undertaken to highlight the Transportation Ministry's support to connect transportation infrastructure with the existing tourism areas in Bali.

It is apparent that President Joko Widodo is focusing on the tourism sector in various regions. To this end, the Ministry of Transportation continues to complete the construction to connect transportation infrastructure with tourism areas in Bali.

Currently, there has been extensive development in tourism in Bali and it has become one of the main tourism destination cities for foreign visitors coming to Indonesia. Hence, the several transportation infrastructure projects are expected to boost Bali's tourism sector.

Director General of Sea Transportation Agus H. Purnomo, Secretary General of Air Transportation Nur Isnin, and several other relevant officials accompanied Sumadi during his work visit.
