(I will) continue to take selfie photos. It is alright.Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) remains undeterred by the attack on one of his ministers, Wiranto, and affirmed that he will continue to oblige the public with selfie pictures.
"(I will) continue to take selfie photos. It is alright," Jokowi informed the press at the Merdeka Palace here on Friday.
However, he called on the presidential guards to intensify security and step up vigil.
"It will be as usual. The vigilance of the Presidential Security Guards (Paspampres) will be intensified," Jokowi remarked.
Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung earlier noted that President Jokowi had ordered to intensify security of high-ranking state officials after Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Minister Wiranto was stabbed in Pandeglang, Banten, on Thursday.

In the meantime, People's Consultative Assembly Deputy Chairman Fadel Muhammad called to step up security of Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, National Intelligence Agency Chief General Budi Gunawan, and President's Special Staff Gories Mere following the incident in Banten.
"The security must be very tight. Do not let anyone infiltrate and do that," Fadel of the Golkar Party emphasized in Jakarta on Thursday.
In fact, Wiranto, Pandjaitan, Gunawan, and Mere, president's special staff in charge of intelligence and security, should have been offered tight security after the National Police Chief’s disclosure of an assassination plot targeting four high-ranking officials, he pointed out.
"Hence, I am concerned that the warning voiced repeatedly by the Police Chief regarding their security is not followed up," Fadel, who denounced the attack on Wiranto, noted.
Wiranto sustained injuries after being stabbed by a man at the Menes Square area of Purwaraja Village, Menes Sub-district, Pandeglang District, Banten Province, on Thursday.
The minister was shielded by his assistant during the knife attack. He was thereafter moved to Pandeglang District's Berkah Public Hospital. He was later taken to Jakarta.
The police placed in detention two suspects in connection with the knife attack on Wiranto in Pandeglang, Banten Province, on Thursday.
The first suspect, identified as Fitri Andriana Binti Sunarto, 21, is a resident of Brebes District in Central Java and currently resides in a rented house in Pandeglang District, the police stated here on Thursday.
Another suspect, Syahril Alamsyah, 31, is a male resident of Medan City in North Sumatra.
