No, that is not technological research but will be returned to its origin. However, right now, we must set up a new National Research and Innovation Board.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Research and Technology Minister and Head of the National Research and Innovation Board Bambang Brodjonegoro will shortly establish the National Research and Innovation Board in tune with the mandate of the research system law.

"I will prepare the format of the body in accordance with the law," he remarked following the inauguration of the Indonesia Moving Forward Cabinet lineup at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Brodjonegoro highlighted the significance of forming the board to ensure the streamlining of research conducted in Indonesia, especially by government organizations.

Speaking in connection with a possible plan to collect research funds, Brodjonegoro stated that the ministry will focus on the mandate of the research law.

"I will get to know from internal sides," the former minister of national development planning/head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) stated.

Responding to queries on the research conducted by institutes of higher learning, he pointed out that the research was not the authority of the board but will be returned to the Education and Culture Ministry.

"No, that is not technological research but will be returned to its origin. However, right now, we must set up a new National Research and Innovation Board," he stated.

The new board will follow up on research to produce innovations, he stated.

The board will also manage endowment research funds, he remarked.

"The board will manage it. If I am not mistaken, it will amount to Rp900 billion in the initial stage," he added.
