Sleman, Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - Police is investigating a Molotov cocktail bomb attack on the house of 52-year-old Ngadilah in Balecatur Village, Gamping Subdistrict, Sleman District, Yogyakarta Province, on early Wednesday. The local police also conducted a thorough investigation into an act of vandalism on another house in the village which occurred at the same time, Gamping Police Chief Commissioner Sudaryo said.

The two cases are being investigated to find if they were linked, Sudaryo said.

"Our focus is now on chasing the suspects of the Molotov cocktail bomb attack," he said, adding that about a month ago, the police had probed a similar attack which occurred in the Gamping subdistrict area.

A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera installed in the area had recorded their act, he said. However, the attackers could not yet be identified as they were wearing helmets.

On early Wednesday, a verandah of a house in Balecatur Village, Gamping Subdistrict was pelted with a Molotov cocktail bomb but there were no casualties.

The attack was launched by two unidentified men who knocked at the front door of her house at around 02.45 a.m. local time, according to Ngadilah.

She had just performed a Tahajud (night prayer) when the men knocked at the door. Suddenly, one of them threw the bomb which smashed the glass window of the verandah.

She smelled gasoline as soon as the cocktail bomb was thrown. A chair and a window curtain caught fire but was immediately extinguished while the two attackers fled on a motorcycle.

"I rushed out of my house from the backdoor but the attackers had left, so, I failed to identify them," she said

This act of terror is currently being investigated by the local police. (INE)
