"The preferable ages of these young individuals are around 46 years old. My deputy minister, Mr Tiko (Kartika Wirjoatmodjo), is younger than I am. Well, we want to do more on this," he stated while addressing participants of the 2019 Millennial Fest here on Saturday.
Apart from his keenness to promote youngsters with sound capability and track records as well as high integrity, Thohir highlighted the need for senior figures to become mentors and take up positions of the SOEs' board of commissioners.
The capable millennials will be able to usher in innovation and changes in tune with the era of disruption. However, they still need senior and experienced figures to become their mentors, he stated.
"We still need our good seniors at the board of commissioners or at the SOEs Ministry. Our seniors can also become ministers but let our young and competent figures work and make breakthroughs," he noted.
Last but not the least, Thohir reiterated the significance of possessing high levels of morality and integrity for those leading Indonesia's SOEs. "Morality is part of the priorities in seeking competent figures," he remarked.
