The credit limit for KUR, earlier set at Rp25 million, has been increased to Rp50 million, without collateral.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Marine and Fisheries Affairs Minister Edhy Prabowo has encouraged businesspersons in the sector to capitalize on the micro business loan (KUR) since the government has eased requirements to avail the credit.
"The credit limit for KUR, earlier set at Rp25 million, has been increased to Rp50 million, without collateral," Prabowo remarked during a gathering of stakeholders in the marine and fisheries sector here on Monday.
Prabowo emphasized that the ministry will continue to help businesspersons in the sector to receive the loan despite the credit from its internal capital loan agency of Marine and Fisheries Business Capital Management (BLU LPMUKP).
The ministry had earlier urged state-owned bank BRI to disburse micro credit for businesspersons in the sector, including fish farmers and fishermen, as well as the fisheries processing sector.
At a recent meeting with BRI's Vice President Director Catur Budi Harto, he appealed to the bank to disburse the loan for fishermen that can be utilized to provide cold storages, among others.
