Live grouper fish dominate the export products from Natuna.
Batam, Kepri (ANTARA) - The number of fish and shrimp products exported from Natuna District, Riau Islands Province, continued to increase in 2019 as recorded by regional Statistics Indonesia.

On September 2019, some 11,050 kilograms of both fish and shrimp products, valued at US$31,258, were exported. In November 2019, the value increased to $42,681 from 8,654 kilograms of products exported and rose further in December 2019 to $60,499 from 18,554 kilograms of product exports.

"Live grouper fish dominate the export products from Natuna," Rahmad, the head of Distribution Statistics of Riau Islands, informed the press here on Tuesday, adding that the figure can possibly be more owing to the abundant potential resources in the Natuna waters.

China's fishing boats, safeguarded by its coast guard vessels, trespassed into Indonesia's territory of Natuna waters.

China's recent violation of Indonesia's economic exclusive zone fueled tensions as Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had lodged a strong protest. Related news: Indonesia strengthens surveillance mission in its waters
