It is expected to boost the number of foreign tourists of each city.Manado (ANTARA) - PAL Express, a subsidiary of Philippine Airlines, is scheduled to open a new air route for to-and-from flights between the North Sulawesi provincial capital of Manado and Davao City in the Philippines in late March 2020.
“We are projecting the flight traffic to be more complete. It is expected to boost the number of foreign tourists to each city,” Minggus Gandeguai, the Sam Ratulangi Airport’s general manager, remarked in Manado, Tuesday.
Gandeguai explained that the PAL Express Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 NextGen aircraft, powered with modern turbo propeller, comprises 86 seats, that can be operated thrice a week, on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
It is scheduled to take off at 3 p.m. local time from Davao and arrive at 4:45 p.m. local time in Manado, while the return flight from Manado will depart at 5:45 p.m. local time and land at 7:30 p.m. local time in Davao.
In Davao, passengers can opt to board the same airline for connecting domestic flights to other cities in Philippines as well as international flights, including to Japan, South Korea, the United States, and Canada.
Before this plan, Garuda Indonesia operated the Manado-Davao flight twice a week on Monday and Friday, using a 70-seater ATR 72-600 aircraft, since September last year. Related news: Philippines explores reopening of Davao-Manado direct flights
