It is true that surgical masks have been stolenPalangka Raya, C Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Around six thousand surgical masks have been stolen from the warehouse of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Health Office, an official said.
"It is true that surgical masks have been stolen," chief of the Provincial Health Office, Suyuti Syamsul, confirmed here on Saturday.
The masks were not received as part of assistance from the central government, but were provided by other parties, he added.
Suyuti, who is also deputy chief of the Central Kalimantan COVID-19 Task Force, said he had reported the incident to the police.
"Police officers have been to the scene along with a sniffer dog," he informed.
The theft came to light on Saturday evening when an officer from the health office found the warehouse's closed circuit television (CCTV) switched off.
When the CCTV was turned on, it showed somebody had entered the warehouse.
Chief of the Palangka Raya City Police Senior Commissioner Dwi Tunggal Jaladri confirmed the report. "Right now, (the police) are investigating the scene," he said.
