Jakarta (ANTARA) - At least 871 medical workers are currently lodged in four hotels operated by the DKI Jakarta government through the provincial-owned enterprise PT Jakarta Tourisindo (Jaktour) in wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

"There are four hotels that we have turned into accommodation for medical workers. They can register (for rooms) through the DKI Jakarta Health Office, and each hotel can accommodate a maximum of 700 to 800 people," chairwoman of PT Jaktour, Novita Dewi, confirmed on Thursday in Jakarta.

The medical workers are being accommodated at hotels on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, she continued.

Medical workers are currently lodged at the Grand Cempaka Business Hotel, D'Arcici Alhijrah Hotel, D'Arcici Plumpang Hotel, and D'Arcici Sunter Hotel. A total of 444 rooms have been occupied by 871 medical workers from various sectors, including volunteers and ambulance staff.

The medical workers are from different general hospitals, with 293 workers coming from the Tarakan general hospital, 199 from Pasar Minggu, 125 from Duren Sawit, 118 from Koja, 63 from Cengkareng, and 11 from Tanjung Priok.

"There are also 20 workers from the regional health laboratory, six emergency ambulance workers, 17 volunteers, two staff members from the DKI Jakarta Health Office, and 17 from community health centers," Novita Dewi informed.
