Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi held Eid Al-Fitr prayers at his home by becoming an imam and a preacher and said the COVID-19 pandemic is a test of "taqwa" or consciousness of God
"This pandemic teaches us to be truly pious people who have a balance between vertical spiritual and social piety," he said on his official social media website monitored from Jakarta on Sunday.
The Minister of Religion held Eid al-Fitr prayers at his house, along with his family with solemnity while still following the health protocol.
Based on his Instagram photos, family members who took part in the prayers were arranged in such way that they kept a physical; distance of one meter or more.
According to Minister Fachrul, Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr this year are indeed different in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. One thing that is seen is that Muslims undergo worship at home, including Eid al-Fitr prayer.
"With the accompaniment of prayer, may we belong to those who return to our human identity, win control of our desires and provide benefits to others. May Allah accept and bless all the deeds of worship and our lives," he said.
To Indonesian Muslims, the minister of religion advised that Eid al-Fitr could be a momentum to raise awareness for others.
"Let us continue to help and share to each other. Hopefully, Indonesia will soon be free from the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
