We continue to coordinate with the COVID-19 task forces at the community unit level to apply community unit-scale social restrictions (PSBL-RW), so we can continue to monitor it.
Tangerang (ANTARA) - A total of 28 community units in Tangerang City, west of Jakarta, are classified as red zones, or areas with a high risk of transmission of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

A total of 847 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in 82 community units in the yellow zone, 28 community units in the red zone, and 311 community units in the green zone, Tangerang Mayor Arief R. Wismansyah noted here on Thursday.

"We continue to coordinate with the COVID-19 task forces at the community unit level to apply community unit-scale social restrictions (PSBL-RW), so we can continue to monitor it," he remarked.

“Furthermore, the city administration is pondering at length over several measures to restrict public activities under efforts to thwart the spread of COVID-19 virus," he stated.

Wismansyah attributed the spread of COVID-19 in the city to the close contact and crowds of people failing to abide by health protocols.

"The virus spreads due to close contact and crowding of people. Hence, we will restrict crowds of people and take measures against residents violating health protocols," he added. Related news: Indonesia records 3,622 additional cases, bringing count to 184,268
