"On September 17, the religious affairs minister underwent a swab test for which the result came positive. However, thank God, his physical condition has been well-monitored until now, and there are no worrisome symptoms," Kevin Haikal, a special staff to the minister, noted in a statement here on Monday.
Despite being in good condition, Razi is currently self-isolating and resting. This is part of a manifestation of the commitment to adhering to health protocols and breaking the chain of a likely spread, Haikal stated.
"We seek prayers from the community. Optimistically, the process would run smoothly and the religious affairs minister would recover quickly. I am upbeat about the result of the next swab test coming negative, so the minister can take up his duties yet again," he emphasized.
Likewise, the Religious Affairs Ministry’s spokesman, Oman Fathurahman, highlighted that the minister of religion would, for the time being, focus on undergoing the process of self-isolation and health recovery.
For fulfilling bureaucratic duties, Razi has coordinated with and delegated the matters to the deputy minister of religious affairs and offered directives to relevant officials.
"The religious affairs minister has urged to continue the ministry's programs and services. Coordination will be continually conducted online," he added.
