Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) embarked on a work visit to East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province for inspecting the construction work of infrastructure projects and handing out working capital assistance.

The head of state and his entourage took off for West Manggarai District aboard the Indonesian Presidential Aircraft-1 from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, East Jakarta, on Thursday, at around 9:15 Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB).

On arriving at Komodo Airport, West Manggarai District, after an around two-hour plane journey, Jokowi headed to Kampung Ujung and Batu Cermin to conduct an inspection.

Jokowi was also scheduled to visit the Labuan Bajo multifunctional terminal construction project, with his previous visit being on January 20, 2020.

At the same location, President Jokowi will also symbolically distribute working capital assistance to micro and small entrepreneurs.

The president and his entourage are scheduled to return to Jakarta on the same day from Komodo Airport.

Members of the presidential entourage comprised Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Presidential Military Secretary Maj. Gen. Suharyanto, Presidential Special Guard Commander Major General Maruli Simanjuntak, and Special Staff to President Ari Dwipayana.

In the meantime, on Oct 29, President Jokowi inaugurated the 26-kilometer Manado-Danowudu section of the Manado Bitung toll road in North Sulawesi through videoconference on Tuesday.

"The toll road can now serve to support business activities and facilitate public transportation," President Jokowi stated at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java.

The president inaugurated the toll road through a videoconference accompanied by State Secretariat Minister Pratikno and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, while Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono and Governor of North Sulawesi Olly Dondokambey were present at the Manado Toll Gate, Manado City.

"Later, when all these sections are completed, the length will reach 40 kilometers. The gate is only nine kilometers or 12 minutes from the Sam Ratulangi Airport. Hence, it is very close," Jokowi remarked. Related news: Ministry offers Bali's Gilimanuk-Mengwi toll road project to investors
