Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accentuated that parties dissatisfied with the omnibus law on job creation can press ahead and propose a judicial review to the Constitutional Court.

"If discontent lingers on over the omnibus law on job creation, go ahead and propose a judicial review through the Constitutional Court," President Jokowi noted in a statement in connection with the law from the Bogor Presidential Palace, Friday.

The head of state highlighted that the constitutional system was outlined in this way, and any party that is discontent and rejects the omnibus law should take the route of proposing a judicial review to the Constitutional Court.

"Hence, those still not satisfied and reject (the law) can press ahead and approach the Constitutional Court," he noted.

The head of state further spoke of having chaired a virtual limited meeting on Friday (Oct 9) with ministers and governors to discuss the omnibus law on job creation that had triggered debates among the people following its passage.

Jokowi highlighted at least 11 clusters in the law that by and large aim to expedite economic transformation.

The law regulates matters, including simplifying licensing; labor investment; land acquisition; ease of doing research and administrative innovation; convenience and protection of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs); government investment and projects; and economic area affairs.

The president emphasized the need for the job creation law in Indonesia to unleash broader employment opportunities.
