Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appealed to several ministries and institutions to conduct auctions for their activities without further delay to drive the economy in the first quarter of 2021.

President Jokowi made the statement at the submission of the Budget Implementation List (DIPA) and the 2021 Transfer to Regions and Village Fund Allocation List in Jakarta, Wednesday.

"I urge all ministers, institutional leaders, and regional heads, especially those, with large budgets, such as the Ministry of Education and Culture, Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Agriculture, to conduct an auction as early as possible, this December," President Jokowi affirmed.

President Jokowi is upbeat about the auction activities being conducted as early as possible while projecting an economic movement in January 2021 since the auction would have been conducted following the DIPA submission.

The head of state conveyed that social assistance (bansos) in early January 2021 must also be immediately provided to beneficiaries to boosting public spending and consumption to drive the economy at the lowest level.

"We have to work more quickly in the crisis conditions, though the spirit is different. I have often conveyed everything," the president stated. Related news: Government spent 55.1 percent of recovery budget until Nov 9
