Sidoarjo, E Java (ANTARA) - Police have shot two suspected drug traffickers on their leg in Sidoarjo city, East Java, as they resisted arrest.

The suspected drug traffickers have become the target of arrest since November 2020, Chief of the Sidoarjo City Police Senior Commissioner Sumardji said here on Friday.

When the police officers were about to arrest them they were inside their rented room in Beringinwetan village, Taman, Sidoarjo, he said.

"During the raid they were found consuming crystal methamphetamine," he said.

He said the suspects were once sentenced to jail for drug case.

"The two suspects were shot on their leg since they resisted (police) officers who were to arrest them," he said.

During the raid, the police found 394.05 grams of crystal meth, 13 thousand pills LL, two electric scales, and cellular phones as evidence.
