Floodwaters reached a height of between a meter to four meters in residential areas in East Jakarta.
The flooding was triggered by incessant heavy rains over the last several days and waters flowing from the Katulamda sluice in Bogor.
PMI's personnel on the field possess the requisite skills to maintain health protocols while on duty to distribute the food aid.
"We continue to implement the health protocols because we would come in contact with the affected people during the food distribution. However, we have not used hazmat. We still have standard PPE, such as masks, along with following the practice of hand washing and always maintaining a safe distance," she stated.
