At the webinar "Measuring the Impact of Covid-19 Vaccination for Tourism MSMEs" on Wednesday (Feb 10), Sandiaga noted that his side was leaving no stone unturned to restore the tourism sector and the creative economy.
"We conduct in totality all our functions and duties, including implementing strategies that encompass providing subsidies, assistance, and grants," Sandiaga was quoted as saying in a statement, Thursday.
In addition, Sandiaga drew attention to several programs implemented by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency in improving the quality of infrastructure and human resources in the tourism sector and creative economy in the country before welcoming the return of travelers to tourist destinations.
Among those implemented are the "Indonesia Care" program, infrastructure development in five super priority destinations (DSP), as well as improving human resources for tourism and the creative economy.
"This aims to maintain the demand and supply chain in the tourism sector and the creative economy. Thereafter, we will achieve quick wins, including the implementation of disciplined health protocols, acceleration of the CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability) certification, as well as efforts to regulate the number of visitors to prevent crowds at tourist destinations," he stated.
Sandiaga revealed that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy had readied several programs -- Proud of Traveling in Indonesia", Review of Archipelago Culinary Packaging Design (Beda'kan), and the Aksilarasi Program (Aksi Selaras Sinergi) -- to revive the tourism sector and the creative economy.
On the occasion, Sandiaga also invited MSME players in the tourism sector and creative economy to partake in the implementation of independent vaccination to be initiated by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the near future.
"This vaccination requires our collaboration, so that it can run successfully to tackle COVID-19," Sandiaga noted.
Meanwhile, Deputy for Strategic Policy of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy R. Kurleni Ukar highlighted the need for strong data as a benchmark in the preparation of these policy strategies.
To this end, he appealed to MSME actors in the tourism sector and creative economy to immediately complete the data required by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
"Such data is important for us to synergize as a basis for policy formulation to ensure that the policy is right on target," Kurleni stated. Related news: Minister draws attention to challenges facing MSMEs to go global
