"Kemkominfo urges the public not to disseminate content, both in videos and photos, which contain violent acts, body parts, injuries, and other content that is not suitable to share with the public," said the Kemkominfo spokesman Dedy Permadi to ANTARA here on Sunday.
Permadi hopes that digital space such as social media or short message applications will not be used to disseminate the contents in question.
"Kominfo believes that terrorism activities in physical and digital spaces cannot be tolerated and must be prevented by cooperation between all components of the nations," he said.
Meanwhile, Mayor of Makassar Moh Ramdhan Pomanto also made such an appeal.
"We ask residents to remain calm and leave the process to the security apparatus. We also ask residents not to post pictures of the bomb blast, especially the victims of the explosion," Pomanto urged.
He said that uploading and disseminating such images to social media networks was part of an effort to weaken the situation. So he asked residents to be wise not to share those images.
The mayor appealed to residents to strengthen and support security forces in thoroughly investigating the bomb blast .
The bomb explosion took place around the Cathedral Church, on Jalan Kajaolalido in Ujung Pandang District of Makassar City, on Sunday around 10.30 a.m. local time.
The explosion around the Ujung Pandang Police and the Makassar City Police (Polrestabes) as well as the Makassar City Hall Office shocked residents. Meanwhile, police officers immediately went to the scene to secure the location.
The explosion, of which source is not yet known, occurred when the church congregation was worshiping at the church.
The incident allegedly caused casualties. A number of injured victims were immediately taken to hospital for medical treatment.
In total, 14 people are being treated, Hopefully, they could be discharged soon, particularly those with light injurieaas.
