Normally, a discussion is held in a two-way manner between the speakers and members oJakarta (ANTARA) - The National Development Planning Ministry/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) is organizing the Indonesia Development Forum (IDF) 2021 to facilitate discussions on the future of the Indonesian industry.
As a forum to facilitate an exchange of views, the IDF 2021 will be unable to fully contribute to Indonesia in the absence of the people’s active participation and enthusiasm, especially those of the younger generations that are and will be the main actors of development for Indonesia until it realizes its vision in 2045, Director of Macro Planning and Statistic Analysis at the PPN Ministry/Bappenas Eka Chandra Buana noted in a written statement released on Friday.
Buana stated that the event involved several participants of the IDF held in the previous years. The forum was designated to serve as a platform to share experiences pertaining to their participation in IDF and bridge the discussion related to the theme and sub-theme of IDF 2021. As such, the result of the discussion and sharing session will make the public aware of the concept and substantial theme of the forum.
Secretary of the Coordination Team of the Development Empowerment Strategy of the PPN Ministry/Bappenas Rahma Iryanti, concurrently the IDF executive chief in 2017, emphasized that the IDF had played a role of serving as a national- and international-level communication forum to deliberate on the matter of development by involving experts from all components of the Indonesian community.

Normally, a discussion is held in a two-way manner between the speakers and members of the audience. Here, the speaker speaks first during the discussion and the audience later responds (to what the speaker talked about),” she explained.
Through the years, the number of speakers, participants, and discussion sessions at the IDF have steadily increased, with two plenary sessions, 29 parallel sessions, 152 speakers, and 1,476 participants in 2017, which rose to seven plenary sessions, 70 parallel sessions, 273 speakers, and 3,315 participants in 2019.
