The handling process, from the start to the end, should be collaborative. It should be a series of well-integrated measures to handle COVID-19
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Lieutenant General Ganip Warsito believes that for optimally handling the COVID-19 pandemic, the process should be integrated from the start to end.

"The handling process, from the start to the end, should be collaborative. It should be a series of well-integrated measures to handle COVID-19," Warsito noted in a statement here, Thursday.

The lieutenant general explained that in order to facilitate the integration, micro-scale public activities restrictions (PPKM) in the "upstream" sector should set a good example in controlling virus transmission. It can be achieved by practicing the quartet of prevention, socialization, security, and support.

"The upstream sector must be the vanguard. It should be realized by setting up micro PPKM posts at the village and sub-district levels that perform the four functions of prevention, socialization, security, and support," he emphasized.

To ensure its implementation, Warsito who concurrently served as the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) head, undertook a visit to micro PPKM posts and the centralized isolation shelter in Klaten District, Central Java.

He reviewed the micro PPKM posts and the centralized isolation shelter in GOR Gelarsena to ensure that COVID-19 handling measures from upstream to downstream were being followed optimally and collaboratively.
