We believe that tourism sector can quickly rebound.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry will build 900 tourism homestays at five super priority National Tourism Strategic Areas (KSPN) this year.

“We believe that the tourism sector can quickly rebound. Hence, we will renovate the residents' houses to be suitable for homestays in the tourism areas, so the local community can also derive economic benefits from the sector," PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono noted in a written statement here on Wednesday.

Currently, the ministry conducts the Self-help Housing Quality Improvement Program in Supporting Tourism at the five KSPNs included in Presidential Regulation Number 3 of 2016: Morotai in North Maluku, Tanjung Kelayang in Bangka Belitung, Raja Ampat in West Papua, Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi, as well as Bromo-Tengger-Semeru area in East Java. The program is also in accordance with the National Strategic Projects stipulated in Presidential Regulation Number 109 of 2020, he remarked.
