"Mobile vaccinations are ready to roll out before August 17," Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti stated on Thursday.
The mobile vaccination car will reach residents experiencing difficulties in accessing health facilities or vaccination services.
"For instance, people with disabilities or elderly people with problems to come to health facilities. With the mobile vaccination car, we will come to them," Suyuti affirmed.
The mobile vaccination car, operated by the Yogyakarta city government, will offer the same facilities as that currently owned and operated by the Yogyakarta City Police.
"I hope that the National Defense Forces (TNI) in Yogyakarta also have a vaccination car to help expedite vaccination numbers in Yogyakarta," he remarked.

Currently, the Yogyakarta city government only has one car for vaccination that is a modified version of an ambulance.
The mayor is optimistic that the vaccine car would be able to carry around one thousand doses of the vaccine per day.
"I think if this vaccine car can reach a thousand people per day, then that is good enough," he emphasized.
Suyuti ensured that the data of those receiving the COVID-19 vaccination from the vaccine car will be recorded properly and connected to the central government’s data application.
"Most importantly, those who receive the vaccine are people meeting the requirements. Before being vaccinated, the health workers will conduct a screening test. The recipients' data will also be recorded properly," he expounded.
Suyuti also urged all residents of Yogyakarta to actively register for vaccinations and not depend on the availability of the mobile vaccination car.
Regular vaccination services in the city of Yogyakarta are available at 18 health centers, 13 hospitals, and two clinics.
