I think Buleleng District can be a role model. Of the several hundred people in the isolation shelter, no one has died, and the success rate is high.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan underscored the importance of 3T (Testing, Tracing and Treatment) and disciplined adherence to health protocols in handling the COVID-19 pandemic in Bali.

During his visit to several locations in Buleleng District and Denpasar City, Bali, Friday, Pandjaitan, concurrently coordinator of public activity restrictions (PPKM) Java-Bali, urged the public to increase discipline in following health protocols.

The minister stressed that strictly following health protocols will have an impact on Bali's image as an international tourism destination, wherein it will be in the spotlight in terms of safe health protocols.

"Please, (I advise) that religious ceremonies be temporarily reduced or tightened. Prioritize health protocols first, as there are always new reports of COVID-19 cases after the event due to crowding," he emphasized in a written statement.

Pandjaitan called to optimize efforts to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 in Bali Province since despite the high vaccination rate on the Island of the Gods, the COVID-19 case count had yet not decreased significantly.

"Bali is 91-percent vaccinated, and it should have been good. However, (the case count) is still stagnant and has not gone down, while cases in other areas have plummeted," he pointed out.

Furthermore, the PPKM coordinator asserted that all districts in Bali Province should offer centralized isolation shelters replete with facilities comprising adequate spaces, food supplies, health workers, sports facilities, and telemedicine.

"I think Buleleng District can be a role model. Of the several hundred people in the isolation shelter, no one has died, and the success rate is high," he remarked.

On the same occasion, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin ensured that the supply of medicines in Bali had, so far, been sufficient.

"We have also received assistance from Singapore and Morowali and have sent more than 300 oxygen concentrators to hospitals in Bali," Sadikin revealed.

He also stressed that the Bali government should not hesitate in promoting 3T.

"If someone is COVID-19 positive, directly take them to the isolation shelter, so they cannot infect others. Do not be afraid of tests and reporting test results, as the more the reports are, the better the condition will," the minister affirmed.
