Hence, we will release the new cases based on their occurrence date.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - All local governments need to provide updates on each COVID-19 active or death case in their regions more regularly, spokesperson for COVID-19 vaccinations at the Health Ministry, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, has said.

"Currently, there are 18.3 percent of regional active case data that have not been updated for more than 21 days. The number is about 49 thousand cases. We urge the local governments to immediately update the data," she stated at an online press conference on community activity restrictions (PPKM) here on Wednesday.

She informed that the request is being made as national data on COVID-19 is continuously updated, however, old data is still being submitted by several local governments.

“Hence, we will release the new cases, based on their occurrence date. Thus, they will not impact the assessment level of the pandemic situation. Furthermore, we will continue to work closely with local governments to continue updating and synchronizing the COVID-19 data status -- whether the patients have recovered or died," the spokesperson added.

There are around 19 thousand remaining cases for which data has not been submitted by local governments, she said. For instance, there are around 10 thousand cases originating from Depok City that have not been recorded in the central government's New All Record (NAR) system, she added.

Hence, the ministry will release the data this week. "Depok City government’s reporting system has not been linked to the central government’s NAR,” Tarmizi added.

Furthermore, she urged local governments to maintain good communication with the ministry on COVID-19 data reporting to avoid delays in the updating of data on active or death cases.

"We thank local governments for their excellent cooperation and hard work. However, we also encourage them to keep coordinating with us so the situation in their respective regions can be assessed properly without being affected by the pending data," she added.
