We want to ensure the readiness of transportation connectivity, both land, sea, and air to support the WSBK race at the Mandalika Circuit
Praya, Lombok Tengah (ANTARA) - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi reviewed the readiness of transportation facilities and infrastructure for the World Superbike (WSBK) racing event at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Wednesday.

"We want to ensure the readiness of transportation connectivity, both land, sea, and air to support the WSBK race at the Mandalika Circuit," Minister Sumadi said.

He was accompanied by NTB Governor Zulkieflimansyah, NTB Police chief Inspector General M. Iqbal, the directors of MGPA and ITDC, as well as NTB provincial officials.

Earlier, the central government had appointed the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) as one of the five national strategic Priority Destinations (DSP).

"Hopefully, this will encourage economic growth in NTB," Sumadi said.

To support the WSBK and MotoGP events at the Mandalika Circuit, the Transportation Ministry has developed supporting transportation facilities such as at the Lombok Airport, Kayangan Port, Gili Mas, and Bangsal Port, he noted.

"The development of other supporting facilities, including the Airport-Mandalika Bypass road, has also been completed to support tourism development in the SEZ," he added.

"We have prepared buses at every entry point to the circuit," he informed.

Sumadi said that to improve transportation connectivity between Padang Bai Port in Bali, Poto Tano Port in Sumbawa, Gili Mas, and Bangsal, his ministry had prepared fast boats.
