"We are still pursuing and monitoring them while they are in Bali. It is known that there are five people, and we are still early on in the detection process. Do not catch the wrong people later on," Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Law and Human Rights Ministry Jamaruli Manihuruk stated in Denpasar on Friday.
Manihuruk noted that the identity of one individual in the group of five suspected of the assault was known and was still being investigated. From this examination, the identities of other perpetrators would be found out.
"Of course, there will be a calling for (Ukrainian citizens). Right now, the identity of one of them has been discovered, (and) this will serve as our guide. This one will be (interrogated) later to find out who were his accomplices. That will be a way to get hold of the others. As long as the name is correct, you can (catch them)," he remarked.
The Ukrainian citizen held a tourist visa. He noted that from the information obtained in the assault case that went viral on social media, it involved two Ukrainian citizens: Oleg Zheinov, who was disgruntled with Volodymyr Kaminsky over motorbike rentals.
"Oleg Zheinov came to Indonesia on a visitor stay permit before January, while Volodymyr Kaminsky arrived in Bali in January," he stated.
Head of Criminal Investigation at the North Kuta Police First Inspector I Made Purwantara explained that on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at around 12 p.m. local time, a foreign citizen from Ukraine named Oleg Zheinov was beaten up by several foreigners.
At that time, Oleg Zheinov and his girlfriend, Cenly Elounora Musa Lalenoh, had approached a foreigner named Volodymyr Kaminsky at Villa Lime, Subak Sari Street, Banjar Tegal Gundul, Tibubeneng Village, North Kuta District, Badung District.

Zheinov was at the scene to hold Volodymyr Kaminsky accountable for the loss of the motorbike that he had rented to him. However, Kaminsky refused to take responsibility for the loss and instead accused Lalenoh of stealing the motorbike.
At around 12:30 p.m. local time, four other foreigners confronted Zheinov, claiming to be international police. They immediately dragged Zheinov into the car and hit him.
Purwantara remarked that Zheinov suffered from bruises and abrasions on his neck and knees as the result of the incident.
