Be more vigilant in implementing health protocols against COVID-19
Praya, C Lombok (ANTARA) - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo urged all officers to strategize as a precautionary measure against a surge in COVID-19 cases, including those of the Omicron variant, before the Mandalika MotoGP in March 2022.

“The control is very important to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant,” Prabowo stressed while witnessing a nationwide simultaneous vaccination drive at Mandalika Hospital, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), here on Friday.

Nationwide, the number of new COVID-19 cases had touched 11 percent, though the case count in NTB was still below the national average of five percent, he pointed out.

Boosting efforts to accelerate the administration of vaccination to the public is among the most prioritized moves in a bid to contain the virus spread, he highlighted.

“This is our opportunity to continue to help accelerate vaccination as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the province, especially in the Mandalika MotoGP venues,” he stated.

The chief is sanguine that the Mandalika MotoGP preseason tests would run smoothly and optimally while keeping under control the increase in COVID-19 cases.

“Be more vigilant in implementing health protocols against COVID-19,” Prabowo noted.

The chief also appealed to the public that had received one or two doses of the vaccine to also get the third dose of the booster vaccine.

“The pandemic is our challenge, so we have to tackle the Omicron variant,” he remarked.
