The government has readjusted the WFO capacity in regions with level 3 PPKM. From the earlier 25 percent of the office capacity, it has now been changed to 50 percent of the office capacity
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government adjusted the Work From Office (WFO) regulation, from the previous 25 percent of the office capacity to 50 percent for regions where level 3 of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) had been imposed.

This decision is taken to strike a fine balance between the health sector and the economy.

"The government has readjusted the WFO capacity in regions with level 3 PPKM. From the earlier 25 percent of the office capacity, it has now been changed to 50 percent of the office capacity," Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan noted during a press conference, Monday.

In addition to the capacity in offices, the capacity for art performances, cultural, and social activities for the community as well as public facilities, such as tourist attractions, has also been increased to 50 percent.

Pandjaitan remarked that details of the regulation will be contained in the Home Affairs Minister's Instruction to be issued today.

"That way, street vendors and art performers can continue to conduct their activities and do not need to be sent home due to the impact of this policy," he stated.

Pandjaitan later remarked that based on data obtained from overseas studies, he had confirmed to a decline in the death rate due to COVID-19.

In mid-2020, the Corona Virus was detected to be 13 folds deadlier than common cold. However, by 2022, the Omicron variant is forecast to be only twice as deadly as the flu.

Meanwhile, the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali will also be opened for foreigners and Indonesian citizens for all purposes and not solely for tourism. This regulation includes opening the sea border in Bali for foreigners and Indonesian citizens coming aboard cruise ships or sailing ships.
