Jakarta (ANTARA) - More than 3.2 million taxpayers have submitted their annual tax return (SPT) forms for 2021 to the Directorate General of Taxation, an official said.

"Until February 22, 2022, 3.2 million taxpayers have submitted SPT forms for 2021," director general of taxation, Suryo Utomo, informed at an online press conference on APBN KITa (Our State Budget) on Tuesday.

The 3.2 million taxpayers comprise 3.1 million individual taxpayers and 100 thousand corporate taxpayers, he said.

The Law on General Provisions and Taxation Procedures stipulates that the deadline for the submission of individual taxpayers' SPT is three months after the end of the tax year, or March 31, he stated.

Meanwhile, corporate taxpayers are required to file SPT forms with the Directorate General of Taxation no later than four months after the end of the tax year, or April 31, he added.

"We will also encourage taxpayers to file their SPT forms soon by, among others, sending e-mail blast to remind them," he said.

In addition, the Directorate General of Taxation will also conduct campaigns, implement educational programs, and open taxation classes in almost all tax services across Indonesia, he said.

"We are also cooperating with third parties, particularly job providers, because the annual income tax return (SPT PPh) forms of their employees are related to the tax cut by the job providers," he added.
