We assure that visitors arriving at Mandalika Circuit will not suffer long traffic and long queue to spectate the MotoGP championship.
Central Lombok, W Nusa Tenggar (ANTARA) - West Nusa Tenggara Police Chief Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto inspected several sites at the Mandalika International Street Circuit to review the readiness of police officers for maintaining traffic flow during the MotoGP championship next week.

"We assure that visitors arriving at Mandalika Circuit will not suffer long traffic and long queue to spectate the MotoGP championship," Poerwanto said in a statement issued in Praya, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Saturday.

Visitors arriving by car will be directed to several parking centers inside the Mandalika Circuit Complex, and shuttle buses to the circuit will be provided for them by the organizer, the police chief informed.

A parking center east of the circuit is among several that have been prepared to accommodate thousands of vehicles that are expected to flock to the MotoGP venue, he added.

"Before (they are) allowed entry, visitors will need to exchange their tickets for a wrist ticket at assigned points," Poerwanto said.

He further said he expected officers deployed for the security operation to properly manage the traffic and prevent traffic jams from occurring within and around the circuit complex.

"The operation goal is to ensure that the traffic will be smooth during the day. Hence, we need to study all places, including stop areas, ticket exchange areas, and bus U-turns," the provincial police chief added.

Speaking about the security measures taken for the championship, Poerwanto said that all security aspects have been properly planned to ensure smooth and safe MotoGP implementation.

Around 3,427 officers have been drawn from various agencies, such as the military, the police, the National Search and Rescue Agency, local transportation office, local health office, the municipal police, as well as airport and port security authorities, for securing the MotoGP championship, which will take place at the Mandalika Circuit from March 18 to 20, 2022.

"The Police Headquarters has also provided assistance for our operation. Our personnel will be enhanced by proper security equipment to secure land, air, and sea during the championship," Poerwanto remarked.
