I see that proper COVID-19 handling demonstrates the government's guarantee that tourists can now safely come to Bali Island, particularly Badung DistrictBadung, Bali (ANTARA) - Proper COVID-19 handling is one factor that will guarantee more tourists to return to Bali Island and spend their holidays there, according to Badung District Secretary I Wayan Adi Arnawa.
"I see that proper COVID-19 handling demonstrates the government's guarantee that tourists can now safely come to Bali Island, particularly Badung District," Arnawa noted in Mangupura, here on Wednesday.
Arnawa remarked that Badung District, whose economy is highly dependent on the tourism industry, is among several regions severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic that caused a freefall in tourist arrivals to Bali.

The district authority has collaborated with relevant stakeholders to implement measures necessary for supporting a recovery of economic activities and the tourism industry in Badung, the regional secretary noted.
According to the COVID-19 handling evaluation report for the district, Badung has recorded a steady decline in the number of COVID-19 cases, he added.
Responding to improvements in the COVID-19 situation in Badung District and Bali Province, in general, the central authority has relaxed policies for foreign tourists arriving in Bali, Arnawa stated.
The central government has implemented the zero-quarantine policy trial and reinstated the visa on arrival policy for foreign tourists since March 7, he noted.

The authority has also rescinded the requirement of COVID-19 PCR and antigen test certificate for domestic travellers, who have completed their COVID-19 vaccine or have received the booster vaccine, the regional secretary noted.
Relaxation on travel requirements for Indonesian and foreign nationals will attract more tourists to spend their holidays in Bali Island, especially in Badung District, Arnawa remarked.
"Those policies provided new opportunities for Badung District and Bali Province. I hope that handling of the COVID-19 pandemic would continue to be conducted professionally," he affirmed.
