I urge all Indonesian Police on duty to prepare security for their respective region
Surabaya (ANTARA) - Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi urged his staff to make requisite security preparations for the upcoming 2022 Eid al-Fitr homecoming.

"I urge all Indonesian Police on duty to prepare security for their respective region," Shantyabudi stated during the gathering of traffic directors of the Indonesian National Police through the national coordination meeting here on Thursday.

The two-star high-ranking National Police officer echoed his side's readiness to oversee the upcoming 2022 Eid al-Fitr homecoming by conducting the 2022 Ketupat Operation.

After the national coordination meeting, Shantyabudi inquired about several preparations made ahead of the homecoming, starting from the preparation for homecomers to readying information.

"Today, we gather the managing directors, especially the traffic director. Then, it will be followed up by their staff on the field," he noted.

Earlier, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that homecoming to celebrate the 2022 Eid al-Fitr was allowed as long as the travelers had received the first and second doses as well as a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Jokowi also reminded that every activity during homecoming must be accompanied by the implementation of strict COVID-19 health protocols.

Meanwhile, Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, affirmed that the hard work of police officers can be seen during the important momentum, such as homecoming and other holidays.

"The Eid al-Fitr homecoming momentum surely takes a lot of effort and is difficult to be managed. We laud the hard work of police officers in conducting their duty," Setiyadi remarked.

He expressed hope that people, who will go home during Eid al-Fitr, will comply with the homecoming regulation stated by President Jokowi to help police officers in conducting their duty.

"We are optimistic that the president's direction will ease the job of police officers, especially in the transportation and traffic sectors," he noted.
