Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) opined that anti-corruption counselors exemplify collaboration in creating a developed, prosperous country, with an anti-corruption culture, KPK's Director of Anti-Corruption Education and Training Dian Novianthi said in a statement here, Wednesday.

The statement was delivered on the second day of the first round of the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group (ACWG) here on Tuesday, March 29.

Novianthi explained that several anti-corruption counselors were members of the general public, who were highly concerned about realizing a society with integrity.

They were neither paid by the commission nor the state, but they did it voluntarily, Novianthi stated.

Since 2017, the commission had facilitated partnerships with the general public through the issuance of the anti-corruption counselor certification by the commission's Professional Certification Institute (LSP).

Anti-corruption instructors will receive a work competency certificate that is valid in Indonesia, since the certification had obtained a permit from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).

She explained that the public could register free of charge for the anti-corruption counselor certification through the aclc.kpk.go.id page.

Several stages to the certification, ranged from the first anti-corruption counselor, young anti-corruption counselor, and middle anti-corruption counselor, to the main anti-corruption counselor.

In addition to the general public, state civil servants can apply to become anti-corruption counselors, such as Tax Auditors at the Directorate General of Taxes at Finance Ministry.

A state civil servant at the Finance Ministry, Johana Lanjar Wibowo, who also attended the second day of the first round of the G20 ACWG meeting, said she was motivated to become an anti-corruption counselor to shield herself from corruption in her work environment.

She concluded that leaders play an important role in the success of the anti-corruption program, after more than a decade in the anti-corruption counseling world, both institutions' internal working to cross-agency and cross-regional scope.
