“The essence of this Education Report Card is to make it easier for schools to map educational conditions and improve the quality of learning. This process of (taking) the Education Report Card (into account) will (assist) schools and teachers in determining the (method they need to employ to) improve the learning (process/experience)," Makarim said during the 19th episode of Freedom in Learning, as seen from here on Friday.
The Education Report Card is a platform that integrates various educational data to help educational units and education offices identify achievements and root causes, reflect, and then design data-based improvement strategies.
The function of the report card is to serve as a means of introspection and problem identification for each educational unit and education office so they can develop a more precise and data-based plan for improvement.
The Education Report Card displays data on the quality of educational units or regions, obtained from various national assessments or surveys. The information can be accessed by educational units and education offices. They can see the data in detail, including their own achievement and the learning process in their respective places.
Education offices can observe issues that are currently seen in their respective regions on a macro basis, and can also access data based on the level of education.
There is also a download feature, particularly for educational units and offices that wish to further process the available data in the Education Report Card. Everyone can view the results of the National Assessment through the dashboard of the Public Education Report Card.
The ministry will provide assistance to regions that need it through data-based planning, which is expected to be a solution to planning problems at the central, regional, and educational units.
“Let us use the Education Report Card to identify the root cause of the problems in each education unit and region, (introspect in accordance with) the data-based Education Report results, and together we can fix the Indonesian education (system) as a whole. With the Education Report, let us realize the Freedom in Learning together," Makarim remarked.
