Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - The Education Office of Tangerang City, Banten Province, on Monday announced the re-implementation of face-to-face learning at 100-percent capacity in kindergartens, elementary schools, and junior high schools in the city.

"Based on the results of the evaluation that have been carried out, face-to-face learning with 100-percent capacity has begun. We have coordinated this with all schools and the task force," head of the Tangerang City Education Office Jamaluddin said when contacted from here on Monday.

He stressed that even though the government has relaxed several restrictions, people must continue to prioritize health protocol implementation. Therefore, students will continue to be supervised by teachers and the task force.

The Education Office head informed that based on the data that he received, the number of COVID-19 cases in Tangerang city had declined. This led the Education Office to carry out an evaluation and decide to implement face-to-face learning at full capacity.

He asserted that schools will continue to conduct temperature checks and make mask-wearing and hand-washing compulsory.

According to Jamaluddin, the Tangerang City Education Office has coordinated with the apparatus in the region to jointly carry out monitoring so that the implementation of 100-percent face-to-face learning can run smoothly.

"We ensure that the rules during the pandemic will still be implemented," he asserted.

He also appealed to the students who have not been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to register themselves promptly. Currently, first dose vaccination coverage among students has reached 89 percent. Meanwhile, for the second dose, the coverage has touched 80 percent.

As for teachers, around 99 percent of them have received at least the first dose of the vaccine.

"We are currently collecting data on students regarding vaccination. We will appeal and conduct socialization in every school so that all students can follow vaccination," he informed.
