Mr. President has recommended two ways to distribute cooking oil at Rp14 thousand per liter.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government has prepared two ways to distribute cooking oil to the public at Rp14 thousand per liter, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto has informed.

“Mr. President has recommended two ways to distribute cooking oil at Rp14 thousand per liter,” he said during an online press conference on Tuesday.

The first way is that the Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Board (BPDPKS) pays the price difference to producers without reducing the board's good governance.

The second way is assigning the National Logistics Board (Bulog) with distributing bulk cooking oil to the public through traditional markets, particularly cooking oil obtained from no-crude palm oil export zones whose producers have no distribution networks.

"Bulog will assign producers that used to export (CPO) and have no distribution networks to distribute (cooking oil)," he said.

The ban on the exports of refined, bleached, deodorized palm olein, or RBD, will begin to take effect from 00:00 a.m., April 28, 2022. (West Indonesia Time)

The ban on exports of RBD palm olein bearing HS codes 1511.9036, 1511.9037, and 1511.9039 will be valid until the bulk cooking oil price returns to normal at Rp14 thousand per liter in the traditional markets.

Hartarto said the policy has been taken to maintain bulk cooking oil price stability as well as meet the public's food needs.

"This policy is merely aimed at ensuring that the public will have good access to cooking oil," he added.
