Today, we will evaluate follow up on those instructionsJakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, as executive head of the National Islamic Finance Committee (KNEKS), presided over KNEKS' second plenary meeting on Monday.
In his opening remarks, Amin remarked that the second plenary meeting is held to evaluate follow-up instructions agreed upon during the first KNEKS plenary meeting on November 30, 2021.
"At the first plenary meeting, I said that the KNEKS programmes must be more concrete and measurable to ensure KNEKS works (effectively). Today, we will evaluate follow up on those instructions," the vice president stated.
Amin noted that the plenary meeting also aims to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to achieve the main goal of Indonesia as a major global halal product producer in 2024.

While commending officials of KNEKS and government ministries and institutions for their work, Amin urged all parties to work swiftly and move in unison to achieve the common goal.
Officials from 26 government ministries and institutions, KNEKS member and non-member organizations, as well as several regional leaders, have attended the plenary meeting presided over by the vice president.
He said the plenary meeting's theme is "Move Faster to Realise Indonesia as Major Global Halal Producer."

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, as the secretary of KNEKS, noted that the second plenary meeting aims to notify about the progress achieved by the KNEKS programmes, including the 13 priority programs earlier agreed upon.
Indrawati had earlier stated that the second plenary session is organized to deliberate efforts to expedite achievement of the goal of being a major global halal producer.
"(The second plenary meeting) aims to follow up on the meeting last November. At that time, the vice president urged government ministries and institutions, and even from now, regional authorities, to synergize and harmonize efforts to implement the Islamic finance and economic work agenda," the minister remarked last Monday (May 23).
