Santyabudi remarked that police officers will utilise the electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) system while conducting the traffic discipline monitoring operation.
"We urge (traffic ticket issuance during) the operation to be conducted through the electronic traffic ticket system," Santyabudi stated while presiding over the Operasi Patuh Jaya 2022 roll call at the Greater Jakarta Police grounds here on Monday.
He then reminded traffic police officers to prioritise educational and preventive activities, law enforcement through electronic-based ticket issuance, and sympathetic reprimand for the operation.
The main objective behind holding Operation Patuh Jaya 2022 is to remind drivers, especially the young ones, to observe traffic rules, he stressed.
"The main purpose of Operasi Patuh Jaya is to protect and serve (residents) because we do not want the future national assets to lose their lives on the road," Santyabudi remarked.
The inspector general also cautioned police officers against critical fault-finding in drivers on the road.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria, who also attended the roll call, urged residents to observe traffic rules for road safety.
"Jakarta residents, deaths due to road accidents are still high. Hence, we urged residents to be careful (while driving)," Patria stated.
He appealed to residents driving motor vehicles to ensure all safety aspects are fulfilled before driving.
"Wives and mothers must especially ensure that every day, their husbands and children, before they depart, pray and wear safety apparatuses, such as helmets, jackets, and other apparatuses regulated by law, as well as (remind them) to observe traffic regulations," the deputy governor remarked.
