Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta’s bus rapid transit service TransJakarta has announced a special Rp1 bus fare to mark the city’s 495th anniversary on Wednesday (June 22, 2022).



TransJakarta's corporate secretary division head Anang Rizkani Noor said here on Tuesday that the special fare was the bus operator's expression of love for TransJakarta passengers.



"This special fare is our expression of love to customers and the capital city of Jakarta, where TransJakarta is active every day. (We also want to) thank the Jakarta provincial authority that has been successful in maintaining Jakarta that grows better till this day," he added.

The decision to apply the special fare is a follow-up to the Jakarta Transportation Office Decision No. e-0076 of 2022 on the provision of special service prices for users of public transportation TransJakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta on Jakarta's 495th anniversary, he informed.



Noor said that the Rp1 special fare will apply for all TransJakarta services, except the premium bus service Royaltrans and share taxi service Mikrotrans. The special price will be valid from 12 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. local time (UTC +7).



The premium Royaltrans fare will remain at Rp20 thousand (US$1.34) and Mikrotrans fare at Rp0, he added.

Despite the special fee, passengers will be required to tap their payment card before boarding and disembarking their bus, either at the bus stop gate or on the bus, the division head said.



TransJakarta passengers will also be required to observe the health protocols while boarding their bus as Jakarta is currently under Level 1 activities restriction enforcement (PPKM), he added.



"Let us love our capital by using public transportation and become a witness of TransJakarta growth as the pride of Jakartans that serves residents better," he remarked.
