Even though I am in Jakarta, I am still connected to the internet, so I can still greet my children in East Nusa Tenggara
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Communication and Informatics Minister Johnny G. Plate encouraged the students of East Nusa Tenggara to make the most of digital innovation as well as develop it.

"Even though I am in Jakarta, I am still connected to the internet, so I can still greet my children in East Nusa Tenggara. This is one of the examples of the use of technology, which will develop and grow advanced in the future," Plate stated during a webinar from Central Jakarta, as quoted from a press conference on Saturday.

Participants of the webinar included students from the Ruteng Santo Aloisius Vocational School, Ruteng St. Petrus Computer and Informatics Vocational School, and Kupang 1 State Vocational School.

"I want to tell all of my children that you all must be able to make the most out of Indonesia's digital connectivity in order to constantly improve competence in learning subjects. Stay (productive) and give best contribution for the nation, people, and family. In each district in East Nusa Tenggara Province, where you are currently seeking as much knowledge as possible on digital aspects, for the nation's glory and to fulfill the dreams since independence in a concrete manner," he remarked.

Internet can be used to support the learning and teaching process. By using digital technology, students can reap as much knowledge as they wanted.

"Past the physical limitations, it can even connect us to the global (community). Thus, our nation hopes, the state hopes, the people hope that there will be new leaders, new Indonesian generations in the future that came from the digital native group," he remarked.

Minister Plate expects the youth of East Nusa Tenggara to be able to initiate several innovations.

"In the era of digital development, (it also leads to) the birth of a digital native generation that grows and develops in all aspects, particularly, of course, the digital aspect, so they can contribute in the national and international scopes," he stated.
