Jakarta (ANTARA) - As of July 1, 2022, at least 130 companies registered in the bulk cooking oil information system (Simirah) 2.0, comprising 51 crude palm oil (CPO) producers and 79 palm cooking oil (MGS) producers.

"In the bulk cooking oil for people (MGCR) program, there is an increase in producers, from 75 companies in the subsidized bulk cooking oil program to 79 MGS companies," Director General of Agro-Based Industry at the Industry Ministry Putu Juli Ardika stated here on Monday.

Of the total 130 companies registered in Simirah 2.0, Ardika said, 98 of them, comprising 24 CPO producers and 74 MGS producers, have received registration numbers.

"(Out of) all those who signed up, none were rejected. However, those who have not received the registration number is because they are still in the verification process or are still completing the data," he explained.

According to Ardika, Sumatra region is important as a center for cooking oil production, as 39, or 52 percent, of the 74 MGS producers, who have received registration numbers, are located in the Sumatra regional area, while 17, or 70.8 percent, of the 24 CPO producers are also in the same region.

During the June 1-30, 2022, period, the distribution realization of the bulk cooking oil for people program averaged 81.72 percent of the monthly needs of each province.

"Based on data, shipments of MGCR producers to seven destination provinces of Bali, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, West Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, and West Sumatra have exceeded their projected needs," Ardika pointed out.

Since the government disseminated information on the use of the COVID-19 tracking app PeduliLindungi to distribute cooking oil products, 3,345 retailers, or 8.81 percent of 34,900, have printed the PeduliLindungi QR Code that will be scanned by buyers.

Retailers with the PeduliLindungi QR Code can immediately make transactions with buyers in accordance with the applicable pricing policies and purchase restrictions.

Buyers, who do not have the PeduliLindungi application, can still buy by showing their National Identification Number (NIK).
