Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Diaspora Network (IDN) Global is ready to contribute to the country by supporting the development of a green, smart, and inclusive Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

"This is the right time for the Indonesian diaspora to contribute to the country by playing a role in supporting the development of the capital city in realizing the ideals of a world city that is a role model," IDN Global President Kartini Sarsilaningsih stated at the event celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Indonesian diaspora at the Kilometer Zero Point of Nusantara Capital City, which was followed by ANTARA online here on Wednesday.

Kartini said that in celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Indonesian diaspora, IDN Global collaborated with Nusantara Capital City, as it was relevant to their efforts to contribute to the country.

Through collaboration with the Capital City, Kartini is optimistic that development of the new Indonesian capital would be echoed by the diaspora living abroad.

She affirmed that IDN Global is ready to make several efforts to support the development of Nusantara Capital City, including through a network owned by the Indonesian diaspora that allows them to echo the development of the capital city throughout the world.

The Indonesian diaspora also comprises several groups. This allows them to invest in the development of the Nusantara Capital City.

"Of course, the method will be different. We are waiting for information from the capital city itself if the opportunity is possible," she remarked.

According Kartini, the Indonesian diaspora can also contribute directly through cooperation with villages within the Nusantara Capital City in the village administration digitization program, wherein it has been supported by communities in several villages in Indonesia.

Furthermore, IDN Global also runs the Buku Jendela Dunia program by mobilizing diaspora to share insights through book donations for schools around the Nusantara Capital City area.

Meanwhile, the Main Expert Diplomat of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs R. Prayono Atiyanto stated that the ministry, in its scope of work, will support the Indonesian diaspora, so that they could continue to contribute positively and constructively to the development of the country and nation.

"We welcome the policies that have been taken by the Government of Indonesia in the facilitation and convenience for the Indonesian diaspora, so that they can play a bigger role and contribute to the development of the Indonesian nation and state," according to Prayono.

He noted that the ministry will continue to coordinate and synergize with domestic stakeholders to facilitate the development of stronger collaboration with the Indonesian diaspora in various countries.

"We need to continue to collaborate to be able to update data on the Indonesian diaspora abroad. We also need to continue to collaborate to increase the benefits of ownership of Indonesian people's rights abroad," Prayono stated.
