BRIN wants to encourage collaboration with various parties to strengthen the research and innovation ecosystem to create a digital-based and environmentally friendly economic system.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) will hold the 2022 Indonesia Research and Innovation (InaRI) Expo to showcase the best research and innovation made by Indonesian researchers.

"InaRI Expo is expected to continue the success of Ritech Expo and further highlight the role of research and technology innovation in this dynamic era," head of BRIN, Laksana Tri Handoko, said at the soft launch of the InaRI Expo, which was accessed from here on Wednesday.

The InaRI Expo, which was known as the Research, Innovation, and Technology (Ritech) Expo until 2021, will take place at the Innovation Convention Center Building, Cibinong Science and Technology Area, West Java province, from October 27–30, 2022.

The BRIN head said that he expects the largest research and innovation exhibition in Indonesia to inspire the younger generation to be more innovative, creative, and interested in research activities.

The 2022 InaRI Expo will be implemented as an international-scale event, themed “Digital, Green, and Blue Economy,” and will exhibit food and agriculture, health and medicine, transportation, information and communication technology, energy, advanced materials, defense and security, maritime, disaster mitigation, and sociocultural innovations.

The event also aims to bring together researchers, innovators, and inventors from various research institutions and stakeholders to promote, review, discuss, and collaborate for developing the future of Indonesian and global research and innovation activities.

"BRIN wants to encourage collaboration with various parties to strengthen the research and innovation ecosystem to create a digital-based and environmentally friendly economic system," Handoko stated.

The 2022 InaRI Expo will be organized as a part of the implementation of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency as BRIN is serving as the chair of the Research and Innovation Initiative Gathering, which has the goal of enhancing, intensifying, and strengthening research and innovation partnerships through the sharing of facilities and funding among G20 member countries.

The exhibition will also be implemented at a series of events with the ASEAN Startup Festival, which will be attended by startup companies from ASEAN member countries and India.

"Through 2022 InaRI Expo, Indonesia has the opportunity to build international cooperation for improving innovation capacity, facilitating technology transfer, and promoting technology as the main driver for sustainable development," the BRIN head said.

The exhibition will feature more than 50 exhibitors from various research institutions, government agencies, business and entrepreneur actors, as well as the community. The event is expected to attract around six thousand visitors.
